Zinc Sulfate Heptahydrate is an inorganic compound with the molecular formula ZnSO4·7H2O, commonly known as alum and zinc alum. Colorless orthorhombic prismatic crystal, white crystalline powder, soluble in water and slightly soluble in ethanol. It loses water when heated to 200°C and decomposes when heated to 770°C.

2. Used in artificial fiber coagulation liquid. In the printing and dyeing industry, it is used as a mordant and an anti-alkali agent for varamine blue salt dyeing. It is the main raw material for manufacturing inorganic pigments (such as zinc barium white), other zinc salts (such as zinc stearate, basic zinc carbonate) and zinc-containing catalysts. Used as wood and leather preservative, bone glue clarification and preservative. Used in the pharmaceutical industry as an emetic.
