Zinc sulfate monohydrate, with the chemical formula ZnS04: H20, is a white crystalline powder that is a compound of zinc ions and sulfate ions. It is an important industrial raw material widely used in electroplating, printing and dyeing, agriculture and other fields.
Preparation method of zinc sulfate monohydrate
1. Directly generated from sulfuric acid and zinc: Mix zinc concentrate with concentrated sulfuric acid, heat to above 50 ℃, react to produce zinc sulfate dihydrate, then add an appropriate amount of distilled water, control the pH value to 2-3, and react to produce zinc sulfate monohydrate. Centrifuge and dry to obtain zinc sulfate monohydrate.
2. Generation from zinc hydroxide and sulfuric acid: Mix zinc hydroxide and concentrated sulfuric acid, heat to above 85 ℃, react to produce zinc sulfate monohydrate, and centrifuge dry to obtain zinc sulfate monohydrate.
The application of zinc sulfate monohydrate in different fields
Chemical industry
- Rust inhibitor:Zinc sulfate monohydrate is mainly used as an rust inhibitor in the chemical industry. It can make zinc into a metal film, cover it on the surface of steel, form an organic coating, and make the surface of steel corroded by oxides such as air and water, thereby extending the service life of steel.
- Dyestuff:Zinc sulfate monohydrate can also be an important ingredient in dyes, with high stability in both composition and reaction, which can effectively disperse dyes in different media.
- Food additives: Zinc sulfate monohydrate can also be used as a food additive. It can prevent fat oxidation in food, improve the quality and shelf life of food
